I wanted to create an artwork in the calm before the storm and leave the next events up to the viewer’s imagination.
I chose an endangered ringtailed lemur and a near threatened gerenuk to feature in this work. Both are such strange-looking creatures but have such soulful eyes. The statuesque and calm gerenuk compared to the cheeky playful lemur.
I often wonder about what animals are thinking. Yes, it is anthropomorphic but I think it is terribly arrogant of human’s to think animals have no conscience thought about their predicament.
